Hose Tights Winter Wonderland

Hello Everyone,

It has been a long time since I have done a review, but am so happy to be able to review another pair of tights for you all.  This pair was sent to me by hose. tights and I have to say they look amazing!  I want to thank Rebecca at hose. tights for sending me this pair to review!

They are screen printed which I think is so cool and interesting as it is not commonly seen when it comes to legwear and tights.  They have different and unique designs that also really makes me love them!  I think tights that are different and unique really make an outfit more fun and interesting and make the legs stand out.

They are 100 denier so they are thicker and should be more durable than most of the tights you may find in stores along with providing extra warmth!  The specific pair I was sent are the black splatter circle tights and they are something that I really love as I love the shiny aspect of the circles and how they have that splatter look to them!  I definitely would recommend them to someone to try as they do look amazing on the legs and even my amazing photographer thought they were gorgeous!

Honestly, I think you could wear them either way with the circles on the front or the back depending on what look you are going for.  While I was sent these tights to review, the review is still my own. I wanted to thank my amazing photographer for making these outdoor photos possible!

Have a good one,

Jonathan

BZR Ombre Tights

Hello Everyone,

Today I have another review, this time from the brand BZR and they hand dye their tights in Seattle, WA. I was so excited to try them out as they make amazing colors in ombre tights which I have never tried before but have always found very unique and fun!  The pair I was sent are the Moonbeam Tights and they are described as being "pop blue going to dusty pale purple" on their website.  They say the tights are 50 denier which feels about right as they feel about medium weight and provide good coverage on the legs!  I really think the fabric feels very nice and was soft and smooth on my legs which is always a good thing.  The tights are manufactured in New York and hand dyed in Seattle.  I really think these tights would hold up well as they don't feel too thin and delicate. I really love how nice the tights look on the legs and the color is amazing, I must say.  I would say that these tights are definitely as statement piece and meant to let the legs be seen.  I really think that during the cold winter, it might be nice to layer a black opaque pair underneath for extra warmth all while still getting the stand out ombre colors on the legs! I think everyone could use a pair of these to add some fun and excitement into their style!  I really would recommend these to others as they are fun and unique and were comfortable for me to wear and felt good on the legs.   I personally think these tight can be worn with various types of footwear as they are more statement tights and fun, so I think heels, booties, sneakers, high heel sandals, but I would not wear them with high boots as that kind of covers up the ombre color effect which is why I feel the tights should be shown off!  They have various other color schemes to choose from on their website and Etsy store, so fee free to check them out.

I just want to thank BZR for sending me these tights to review and say that while they did send me the tights to review, the review is still my own.  I also wanted to thank my amazing photographer as I could not get the great outfit photos done by myself!

I would love to hear your thoughts on the tights.

Have a good one,

Jonathan

Interview with Rebecca of Style It Green

Hello Everyone,

It has been a long time since I have done an interview and I am so excited to be able to do one this time with the lovely Rebecca of the blog:  Style it Green  as I think she has an amazing style and really styles her tights well.   I am so thankful she agreed to do the interview, so here it is.

1. Do you like wearing tights and hosiery?  If so what is it about them that you like?

Yes!  I LOVE wearing tights and hosiery, and I have since I was a little girl.  I was a ballerina for a number of years as a child, and my mother was a theater teacher.  Between the dancing and the exposure to costuming through my mother's work, I just intuited the concept very early on that tights are a way to feel "fancy," and to this day, I wear them when I want a polished feel to my look.

2. How many pairs do you currently have and what is your favorite pair you own?

I probably have about 30 pairs, depending on whether or not you count stay-ups and stockings.  More recently, I have gotten really fond of silk stockings that can be worn with a garter belt and suspenders.  I find that to be one of the most classically feminine ways to get dressed up.  I have two favorite pairs of tights.  The first is a pair of cotton children's tights I got at J.Crew.  They are gray with little kitty faces on the knees.  I love how playful they are!  I also love that they keep me warm in winter so I can wear skirts and dresses all year long.  My second favorite pair is actually a pair of Marlies Dekkers they are so well made, so comfortable, and so flattering.  I always receive compliments when I go out in them.  When I first received them, I wore them for a week straight, no joke!

3.  What is your favorite brand of hosiery?

I am obsessed with the Marlies Dekkers stay ups, and it would be a dream come true if she'd make some traditional tights, too.  I'd buy a bunch!

4. How often do you wear them and do you wear them year round?

It certainly varies based on what I've got going on from week to week, but I typically wear tights at least once per week, year round.  I wear warmer ones in winter and usually sheer ones in hotter weather.

5.  What would you tell people who are hesitant about wearing sheer hosiery, especially skintone shades?

Two words: KATE MIDDLETON. The Duchess of Cambridge is one of my major style icons, and Kate rocks the sheer hosiery like nobody else!  I think her looks always look so elevated because she wears sheer hosiery.  Finding the right tone is key.  For sure, you want to look natural when you go the sheer route.

6. What advice do you have for others about styling tights and incorporating them into outfits?

In addition to picking the right shade if you go sheer, you should really just think of tights as an extension of the rest of your fashion and personal style.  If you like big, bold patterns and color, there are plenty of tights that will let you show off your style.  And, if you're more of a subdued dresser, tights in lots of different neutral shades area a great way to give a feminine, put-together look to outfits featuring dresses, skirts and even shorts.

7. There have been manufacturers who have made tights for men, and some that still do.  What do you think about this trend?

I am a big fan of wearing menswear; it's absolutely liberating and empowering! On the flipside, it's a breath of fresh air to see men who are interested in using items traditionally marketed to women in their wardrobes.  However, what I have found through my own love of menswear is that it really looks and feels best when it's tailored to my female body shape and size, rather than directly "Borrowed from the boys"  and I imagine the same to be true for tights.  The ones made specifically for men are likely more comfortable for men to wear, while retaining the aspects of the look that men are hoping to achieve.  I would recommend to men who are interested in tights to wear them however they pleas!  Tights are made to be seen, sometimes in subtle ways, and sometimes as the centerpiece of an ensemble.  For sure, show off your legs hen you're wearing tights!

8. If someone told you them have no tights, what would you suggest for them to get for their outfits and style?

I think the right "starter set" for anyone without tights would be one sheer pair, one solid opaque in a neutral color and one pair with a pattern.  I'd recommend using them each a few tights and reflecting on which pair felt most :right" for that person's style, and building a collection based on that initial trial period.

Here are some outfit photos she sent me on how she styles her tights!  I love all the outfits and all the tights she is wearing as I think there is a great variety from red tights to ultra sheer skintone shade!  I love the backseam ones on her!  I think she is a natural at styling her tights and putting together amazing outfits!

I want to thank Rebecca so much for agreeing to do this interview!

I hope you enjoyed the post,

Jonathan

Virivee Tights from Hungary 2

Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to be able to do another review on the brand Virivee from Hungary. I have looked at their website and they have so many amazing tights on there!  The pair I am reviewing today is the Dotted Lines Tights which really look amazing on the legs!  They are 50 denier and provide great coverage on the legs which is always nice!  They felt really nice and soft to wear and felt pretty durable also!   I decided to try and wear the lines on the front and be different this time around!  I really love how they look on the legs and I really think this would be a great pair for anybody whom likes wearing black tights, but wants to have that surprise on the back of the legs or the front depending on how you wear them!  I would definitely recommend them to others as I have not seen anything like them before and I feel the brand makes great quality tights!

Here is How I styled them:

I hope you liked the post and would love to hear your comments about the tights!  I want to thank Virivee again for the amazing tights and my amazing photographer for the fantastic photos as always!

I just wanted to say that while I did receive these tights to review, the review is still my own.

Virivee tights from Hungary

Hello Everyone,

I am so very excited to share a new brand with you that I have not yet tried before!  I was fortunate enough to receive these tights from Virivee out of Hungary.  I can say I have looked at their website and they have amazing and beautiful tights!  I was blown away by all the different styles they offer and they are more unique tights that make a statement which I truly love!  This style is the Gold Feet Mermaid Tights and I love them so very much!  They look like scales on the tights which is so cool and fun!  I did not see on the packaging what the denier is, but they are sheer and I would guess around 15 denier.  I would say that they are delicate just like any other sheer varieties and extra care and caution should be taken when putting them on and while wearing them.  On their website it does say they are 15 denier.  I wore them yesterday and they held up well for the time that I wore them, so I am very pleased.  They feel very nice on the skin and the sheer fabric has a nice sheen to it in the light which I love even more!  They offer different colors for the actual scales that are applied to the tights, so feel free to check out their website for the whole catalog of tights!  They have a reinforced toe which is nice to help protect the area from shoes and toenails causing runs, snags or holes in them. I definitely would recommend them to others, especially since some like wearing sheer tights, skintone colors, even black and these offer that with a fun twist!  I think these would be great for the spring and summer months, even in the winter for special occasions just to make a statement!  There is many possibilities! They also have a shorts section at the top which is sheer and not control top at all which is something I really like as well.  I was not sure if they were meant to be worn with the pattern on the front or the back, so I went with wearing them on the back of the legs and am so amazed at how they looked on my legs!  I might have to see how they look when worn with the scales on the front of the legs as it makes the tights more versatile in my opinion that they can be worn either way!  I really think my legs looked amazing in them!  I really want to thank Virivee for sending me these tights to review!  I also wanted to add that they are hand made in Hungary which I think is so cool since not as many goods seemed to be made by hand any more!

While I did receive these tights to review, the review is still my own.  I would also like to thank my amazing photographer for the great photos as they turned out so great!  I also want to thank Virivee for sending me these tights!

Have a good one, and please let me know what you think of the tights!

Trasparenze Platino from Stockingirl

Hello Everyone,

I finally wore the Trasparenze Platino tights sent to me by Stockingirl and I have to say they are really fun and unique! They are a floral pattern with the with the pattern starting at the toes and running all the way up the legs.  When putting them on it feels as though the pattern is continuous and is stitched into the fabric during the manufacturing process.  The feel very soft and you can feel the pattern on the outside of the legs when you touch the tights.  I am not quite sure of the denier as it did not say on the packaging, but would guess they are maybe 50 denier.  I noticed at the top of my thighs, the fabric stretched a little bit more and was thus sheerer.  Overall, I think they are a great pair of tights and very comfortable to wear, which is what I would expect from a brand like Trasparenze which I truly love!  They have some bright colors on them which really make the legs stand out with the floral pattern also!

Here is how I styled them:

I want to thank Stockingirl very much for sending me these tights to review!  While they did send me these tights to review, the review is still my own!

Have a good one,
